Notice to Parents, Carers and Other Interested Stakeholders

Belmont Castle Academy is consulting on proposed changes to the school's oversubscription admissions criteria for students applying for admission in the 2028/2029 academic year. The consultation is being undertaken to ensure that the admissions arrangements remain clear, fair and compliant with the School Admissions Code 2021.

The proposed changes will apply only if the number of applications received exceeds the number of places available.

Belmont Castle Academy is proposing to introduce an additional criterion which would give children of staff second priority in the oversubscription criteria.

Consultation Period

The consultation will run from Thursday 1^st October to Thursday 26^th November.

We welcome comments from all interested parties, including parents, carers, staff, local schools, community organisations and local residents.

All responses must be received by 3.30pm on Thursday 26^th November.

Next Steps

Following the consultation period, all feedback received will be carefully considered by the Governing Board before a final decision is made regarding the admissions arrangements for the 2028/2029 academic year.
